Exploring the American Classroom: A Podcast Journey

Welcome to the American Classroom Podcast! We are excited for you to join us on this journey of educating parents, teachers, and the general public about all the educational opportunities available to you. With an ever changing world, it is more important now than ever to ensure our children have a strong educational foundation. To that end, we have dedicated our time and effort to building schools and curriculums that are dedicated to youth and their growth and development. We invite you to come along with us on the American Classroom Podcast journey.

Why Another Podcast?

We know what you’re thinking, do we really need another education podcast? And quite honestly, we don’t think that is an unfair question and it’s one we have asked ourselves! With so many education podcasts out there it does seem silly to add another one to the mix. However, the more we talked about it and planned it out, we felt that although there are many education podcasts that already exist, we didn’t find any offering what we will.

American Classroom Podcast will be different in 2 very important ways
1. Our focus is on giving parents resources to make the best educational decisions for their children
2. Rather than focusing on educational theory, our aim is to give voices to those who make education happen  - the teachers and the parents.

On American Classroom we believe that all perspectives are valid and important. We believe that you don’t need a PhD to have an opinion or to state your position. We believe education is best understood by those who everyday are in the trenches doing the work. And while educational theory is a vital part in making sure American children have access to the best education, we also believe the practical experience of teachers and parents should not be ignored.

Additionally, we believe that parents should be exposed to the full spectrum of educational options that exist for their children. Ultimately, parents know what is best for their kids, and they shouldn’t be confined to  one option just because they don’t know other options exist. And so on the American Classroom Podcast  we hope to provide parents with information on school choice options so that they can review ALL of their options and can make the best, informed decision for their children.
Who We Are
We know you’re also thinking, who are these people and why should I listen to them? We get it, we also wouldn’t want to listen to a podcast hosted by a couple of random people who don’t know what they are talking about. But fortunately, we have the credentials to back up the claims we will be making on this podcast. So let’s introduce ourselves.

Jared Taylor

Jared is the CEO and Chairman of the Heritage Academy Schools. Jared has a degree in business management and an MBA from Arizona State University. Prior to working for Heritage Academy Schools, Jared had a successful career in corporate recruiting and human resources. Additionally, Jared has served on the Arizona State Board of Education where he was able to meet with superintendents for school districts all over Arizona. There Jared was able to learn the educational challenges and struggles facing teachers, parents, and most importantly students . As the CEO and Chairman of Heritage Academy Schools, Jared has been instrumental in the development of more schools and state of the art educational programs in the greater Mesa area.

Lindsey Crosland

Lindsey is the Development Team and Marketing Manager for Heritage Academy Schools. Lindsey has a degree in anthropology from Arizona State University and started in the healthcare field shortly after finishing her degree. Being more interested in the business side of healthcare rather than the other side, Lindsey switched over. From there, she continued in business and logistics working for large corporations and the military. Lindsey worked overseas in the Middle East with the Navy and later  as a museum manager, shifting over to the nonprofit sector. While working in the nonprofit sector, Lindsey grew an affinity for education and was eventually recruited by a teacher at Heritage Academy. Through working at Heritage Academy Lindsey’s eyes have been opened to education through charter schools and has never looked back. As a parent herself she is passionate about giving parents the information necessary to make the best educational decisions for their children and has worked hard to do just that.
